FinTech License, as “promotion of innovation,” is available if a company:
- is primarily active in the financial sector and accepts max. CHF 100 million public deposits
Note: If exceeded, notify FINMA and submit application for banking license.
- does not invest or give interest on accepted public deposits
- Minimum capital required: 3% of accepted public deposits; min. CHF 300,000
- Must be fully paid-up and retained permanently (not loaned or invested)
Note: FINMA may require higher minimum capital based on risk of business.
- Legal form: Corporation (AG) or limited liability company (GmbH)
- Registered office and actual administration must be in Switzerland
- Company must actually be managed from Switzerland
